Seaside Box: Stonington

From: Fiona Hennessey (bikerbabie@yahoo.com) | Date: 2001-08-31 13:35:32 UTC-07:00
Hi All,

Sad news to report. Tried to do the Seaside Box in
Stonington, box missing! Searched everywhere to no
avail. Looks like it might have been washed away,
there is seaweed and debris scattered almost to the
chain link fence - water was very high at some point.
What a disappointment! I did score two other boxes
today so it was not a total washout! Thunderstorms
chased me all the way home on this hot and humid day.
Made it!

live deliberately, to front only the essential facts
of life, and to see if I could not learn what it had
to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I
had not lived at all!"

Nice gesture (was Re: [LbNA] Seaside Box: Stonington)( CT)

From: Glenn (Glenn.Hansen@usa.net) | Date: 2001-09-01 09:00:08 UTC-07:00
Just a reminder to all

It is a nice gesture to add the state or some indicator in the subject as to
what state the discussion is centered on.

It makes it easy if you don't want to read about the area's away from your
home. You can easily skip the message without reading it

AND

we might be waiting for a new box and if you just mention a city or area and
not the state we might get all excited thinking we have a new box to find
only to be crushed when we find the box is 2000 miles away.

Please, no crushing!

Hey... if the box is really well sealed maybe it is know a "Message In a
Bottle Letterbox". Wouldn't it be a trip if someone found it on a beach far
away and contacted the list (or owner) and it was recovered. My imagination
runnith...

Thanks for the update on the Seaside Box in Stonington. Kathryn and I put
that one there and worried a bit about high tides. Anyway, we will try to
relocate and replant a box as soon as possible. Ann & Kathryn
